Edward Voitek Obituary

Edward M. Voitek, 55, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectantly Friday, September 2,2022. Born May 8,1967 in Wyoming, Ed was the son of the late David J. and Marie Ann Barbacci Voitek Sr. He was a graduate of Dallas Area High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from King’s College, Wilkes-Barre. Ed was a co-owner along with his sister, Nancy Peters and brother, David J. Voitek Jr.  in the family business, Voitek TV and Appliance, located in Kingston and Exeter. Ed was a member of Gate of Heaven, Parish, Dallas. Ed embraced life to the fullest. He was an avid Phillies and Cowboys fan and enjoyed studying American History.  A true outdoorsman he loved to hunt deer, fish and ride motor-cross. He attained lifetime dreams to do big game hunting in Africa and visit the Grand Canyon. Ed was the owner of several properties throughout the Wyoming Valley. He was a member of Huntsville Country Club and belonged to the Irem Temple Shriners, Dallas.  An animal lover, he cherished spending time with his beagle “Brownie” and his cat “Kitty”. Mostly, he cherished time spent with family. Ed loved his work and treated his customers as dear friends. He was a compassionate and loving husband, father, brother and friend. He will be in our hearts and memories forever and truly missed.  Surviving is his wife; Elsie Ryan; children; Vanessa and Joey Ryan at home; sisters; Nancy Peters (Albert), Natalie Fiore (James), both of Wyoming; brother; David J. Voitek Jr.  (Ruthann), Exeter; nieces and nephews; Janelle (Tyler) Morris, Naples, Fla.; Kailey (Samuel) Kapral, Wesley, Fla; David J. Voitek III, Michael Voitek, Zachary Voitek, all of Wyoming; grand-nieces Waverly and Bodie Morris and Ellie Kapral; aunts; Rosemary Michikois, Belton, Texas; Jean “Mitzi” Bainbridge, Rochester, NY; Joan Brunges and friend, Fred Price, Wyoming, and Louise Yanoshak, Plains; and many friends and customers. The Voitek family extends a heartfelt thank you to the Rev. James J. Paisley and Rev. Louis J. Grippi for their spiritual guidance, Dr. Lanning A. Anselmi, Dr. Zachary Simmons at Penn State Health, Pro Rehab in Plains, Dr. Pramthesh K. Desai, Dr. Sanjeev Garg, Dr. Stevens, Janine, Jamie, Wendy and Natalia, for their compassion and medical expertise. and for the kindness and caring of the loyal customers and employees of Voitek TV. because someone we love is in heaven. The Voitek family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday at Hugh P. Boyle & Son Funeral home, Inc. 416 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday in St Francis Cabrini Church, Mount Olivet Road, Wyoming, with Rev. James J. Paisley, pastor as celebrant. Those planning on attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church. Interment with Rite of Committal will follow the Mass in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. The family requests that anyone attending the visitation or Mass to please wear a mask or face covering.  Memorial donations in Ed’s name may be made to the ALS Association of The Greater Philadelphia Chapter 321 Norristown Road, Suite #260 Ambler, Pa. 19002.
