Joseph Osolnick Obituary

Joseph J. Osolnick, of Bradenton, Fla, formerly of Swoyersville, Pa. passed away on January 24,2022 in Bradenton, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. Born August 25,1950 in Luzerne, he was the son of the late Joseph R. And Blanche Jones Osolnick. Joe was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, and attended Wilkes College. Prior to retirement he was employed at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for many years. Joe was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. He was an avid hunter and belonged to the Rosehill Sportsman’s’ Club. He enjoyed music, travel and driving his MX-5 Miata, though the time he cherished most was the time spent with family. Joe will be deeply missed by his wife of 34 years, Linda Rarig Osolnick, and her children, whom he loved as his own, Arthur (Tanya) Brobst of Huntington Mills and their children Arthur IV, Douglas, Nathan, and Soren; Diane (John) Gerhart of Harleysville and their children Sam and Matthew; Amy (John) Estock of Luzerne; Eric (Lori Heller) Brobst of Wilkes-Barre and his children Colton and Zoe. Joe is also survived by his step-mother Mary Ann Osolnick and brother Robert Osolnick, both of Luzerne; sister Rebekah (Efren) Romero of Larksville and their children Caroline, Cayden and Logan; cousin Betty Jane Roberts with whom he was especially close; and many more family and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, February 25,2022 from 5-7 PM at the Hugh P. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 416 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston., Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 26,2022 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Parish Church, 574 Bennett Street, Luzerne with Rev. Jarrod M. Waugh, C.S.C., Administrator as celebrant. Interment will follow the Mass in Scott Cemetery, Huntington Mills.
