Michael T. Mondy, 62, of Kingston, passed away Monday, March 13,2023 at home. Born March 16,1960, in Kingston, he was the son of the late Louis J. and Florence Wrisler Mondy. A lifelong resident of Kingston, Mike was a graduate of Bishop O’Reilly High School where he was a member of the football and track teams. He attended Luzerne County Community College and the American Institute of Banking. As a banker, Mike was employed for several years at Luzerne Bank, and most recently Community Bank, N.A. He was a member of St, Ignatius Loyola parish, Kingston and was currently President of the Holy Name Society. He was also currently President of the Friends of the Hoyt Library, Kingston. Mike was a member of the Wilkes-Barre Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Assumpta Council # 3987. He belonged to the American Institute of Banking, the Wyoming Valley Motorcycle Club, and A.B.A.T.E.; The (Alliance of Biking Aimed Towards Education). Mike was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a frequent patron at the White House Diner, Forty-Fort. Mike enjoyed four-wheeling on his quad, riding his Harley-Davison motorcycle and driving his “chevy” pick-up truck. He had a fondness for music and took pleasure in going to hear local rock bands. Surviving is his wife, Nancy M.; sister; Mollie (David) Saxton; brother; Louis J. (Diane) Mondy; sisters-in-laws; Peggy (William) Scarsella; Patty (Bob) Roper; Judy (Bernie) Vodzak; seven nieces and nephews, nine great-nieces and nephews and many friends. Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation with the family from 5-8 PM Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Hugh P. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 416 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:15 in St. Ignatius Loyola Church, N. Maple Avenue, Kingston. Those planning to attend the Mass are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
