Sally Hogan Obituary

Sally Hogan, 94, of Kingston and most recently Mercy Center Personal Care Center, Dallas, passed away on Tuesday May 1, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Sally was born on December 4, 1923 in Luzerne, a daughter of the late Phillip J. and Sarah S. Boyle. 

She graduated from Luzerne High School where she played the clarinet in the marching band, and Wyoming Seminary School of Business.  She was previously employed by Ace Hoffman Studio, and retired from United Penn Bank, Wilkes Barre, but her most favorite role was as loving wife, mother and Nana. She loved to cook and entertain and no one ever left her table hungry.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Carl P. Hogan in 1994, an infant son Carl, her parents, sisters Murtie Trabitz, Elizabeth Malia, Margaret Swanberry and brother Hugh P. Boyle.

She is survived by her children, Sally (Steven) Rothstein, James (Sherry) Hogan, Mary (Douglas) Rende and Ned (Tricia) Hogan; Twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, N. Maple Avenue Kingston; on Saturday May 5, 2018 at 1pm. Friends may call from 12 until the time of the Mass.

Sally’s family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Center Dallas, and Fran McGlynn for the wonderful care they provided for her during her stay.
